CD-ROM Courses

All pre-licensing and post-licensing courses are approved by The Florida Real Estate Commission and you have up to one year to complete the course online or by CD-Rom. The end of course exam is also taken online.

CD-ROM students have the ability to access the course from one computer. S/he has a dial-up modem or older computer equipment and may not be totally comfortable with internet-based applications. (NOTE: The real estate business has changed it is a technology driven business.) However, with the CD-ROM you do have the ability to refer back to the course as often as you would like after the course has been completed.

You have the unique ability to start and stop the CD-ROM course as often as you wish. The course does not require Internet access 100% of the time. You will be uploading and down loading assignments and the end of course exam is taken online.

To start your licensure quest take the following simple steps. The steps are not required to be taken in any specific sequence except you must successfully complete the MSI pre-licensing course before you are eligible to take the state licensing exam.

The first step is to prepare and send off your licensing application. The application can be downloaded or completed online from the link page. Normal processing time is 45 to 60 days. The Division of Real Estate has up to 120 days to determine if an applicant is eligible for licensure. On the link page you can also follow the processing status of your application.

The second step is to make an appointment with Pearson Vue (the state testing contractor) to have your fingerprints taken electronically. Fingerprinting by ink and paper is no longer acceptable. You can make your appointment for fingerprinting on the link page. If you miss your appointment Pearson Vue will charge another fingerprinting fee.

The third step is the key to your ultimate success, enrolling in an MSI online or CD-ROM course. Upon successfully completing the MSI course you will then make an appointment (from the link page) with Pearson Vue to take the state licensing examination. If you miss your appointment Pearson Vue will charge another examination fee to take the test.
